North County Oncology

Serving North County with compassionate care since 1976

Our Approach

At North County Oncology we understand that a comprehensive approach to treatment is crucial to a successful outcome. Every aspect of the care we provide is of the highest quality, delivered in a warm, welcoming environment. Our chemotherapy infusion room was specifically designed to provide a comfortable space that calms and supports our patients while they receive treatment. This space, described as “healing through architecture” by Dr. Oblon, was featured in the Wall Street Journal article A Treatment Room With A View. North County Oncology. The on-site pharmacy at North County Oncology supplies the newest, most effective chemotherapeutics and allows our physicians to provide immediate and decisive treatment. Our clinic also maintains a specialized therapeutic radioisotope area where radiopharmaceuticals are administered providing critical supportive care for those patients in need. North County Oncology is also proud to be the primary location for the Arts In Medicine Program. Founded by Dr. Oblon, this rotating exhibition displays the works of both internationally recognized artists and local artists interested in supporting the healing process.

Our History

North County Oncology was founded in 1976 by Winston Smith, M.D. In 1977, Warren Paroly, M.D. joined the practice, after completing a Medical Oncology Fellowship at University of Southern California, and has helped to transform the practice into a state-of-the-art cancer treatment facility. Dr. Smith retired from North County Oncology in 1997, however two years later Nayyar Siddique, M.D. joined the practice after extensive training, including a prestigious Oncology & Hematology Fellowship at the University of California, San Diego. In 2001, North County Oncology gained a third partner when David Oblon, M.D. joined the group, bringing with him his experience as a professor at both Brown University and UCSD as well as Director of the Bone Marrow Unit at several institutions. In 2008, North County Oncology moved to its current location, creating the ability to provide even more comprehensive services to those in need. After Dr. Oblon retired, Dr. Himani Singh joined the group. Dr. Singh offers a special perspective on women’s health, including breast and gynecologic cancers.
